What is STEM

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Originating via education in the United States, it is now more global including Canada. The “S” in STEM can also include the social sciences with many using “STEAM” to include the Arts. The key is the integration of different disciplines for discovery, creation, and solutions.

Education leads to careers with STEM examples from data scientists to psychologists to engineers to architects. There is a focus on having more women and other underrepresented groups pursue STEM. With today’s alternative learning options, a college or university education is not always required.

So, if you are considering a career in STEM, are on your way, want to maximize your potential, or try something new – you are in the right place! Career Connexions is here to support you along your career path!
